Lauren Ibarra
Lauren is a first-generation, LatinX student currently pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego with an interest in global health and design. She has been highly involved in efforts towards education and health equity, assuming directorial roles for the International Health Collective and Design for America (UCSD Studio). She is the founder and creator of the RE:dsgn program, which is centered around teaching design-thinking through a community lens for low-income students. She hopes to one day pursue an MD MPH to equitize health education and preventative care for the LatinX community. When she is not hibernating in the library, she enjoys dancing, watercolor painting, listening to classic rock, and going to the beach.
