Serena Jing

Serena is pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Computation from Stanford University but is currently taking a year off to immerse herself more in the Design space. Serena stumbled upon Design Thinking by accident in the summer before college when she was hired by her school district to redesign the district’s staff cultural humility training protocol. Seeing the value that the Design process brought to this research, Serena has been in pursuit of using Design in her projects ever since. Some of these projects have included a Silicon Valley Service Workers storytelling project as well as a project involving the experiences of chronic wound patients to inform the design of a smart bandage that improves and accelerates wound healing. After a long day, Serena likes to unwind by going on long walks, stringing up a hammock, or indulging in reruns of Seinfeld.
